The Institute for Applied Photonics e.V. is a recognized research institute and is active in research, development and teaching in the field of photonics, with a focus on process-oriented X-ray analysis, the development of X-ray optical systems and the corresponding scientific devices. Field of activity: Setup and implementation of physical experiments in spectrometry
Earliest start: October 2023
Working hours: max. 20 hours per month

Responsibilities:
- Development of novel microanalytical devices including high-resolution spectrometry for elemental analysis to detect ultralight elements
- Computer-aided design and technical advancement of microanalytical instruments
- Characterization of novel X-ray optical systems for the soft spectral range based on reflection zone plates
Requirements:
- A successfully completed bachelor thesis with very good final grades in the natural sciences
- Experience and talent in conducting scientific experiments in spectrometry
- Graet interest in the development of customized analytical technologies including instrumentation and analysis
- Basic programming skills – primarily c/c++ and Python
- Pronounced interest and knowledge in the interpretation of data obtained with different measurement techniques and their method combination
